Well...

I had fully intended to maintain the Silent Nun as a fictitious blog following a long standing joke. Well, apparently the joke is on me. Since I wrote last (the first and only post thus far) I, Ashlea Davenport, was asked to be the house leader for ministry house called Maison de la Vie. It is home to single Christian women who are pursuing discipleship and community together within the context of the local church, particularly, Immanuel Baptist Church. Thus, I am now a sort of Protestant Mother Superior. Ah well, funny how life takes you in unexpected directions, and this one is most certainly very exciting to me and all by the grace of the Lord. So now, instead of being the blog of a non-existent nun, The Silent Nun will be comprised of my musings as a Protestant Reverand Mother (PRM for short) and the goings on in the life of Maison de la Vie.

yay! so can i be a married protestant nun, or is that just crossing too many lines?... i could still take all the vows (humility, chastity and poverty)! Just... in a different context from my wimple-wearing sistas...

"It is moreover faith to believe what you do not yet see; of whom faithful pay is to see because you believe"? havin a little trouble with your latin there-- what are you trying to say?

Yeah, I pretty much stole it from Augustine. The rough translation is: "Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe."

I can't make out the subject of the picture...what is it?

It is part of one of the stained glass windows in the house. I think it kind of looks like amber.
